Wine

Penfolds Max's Shiraz Cabernet is a tribute to Penfolds winemaker Max Schubert, famous for creating Grange and the architect of the Penfolds house style.

Max's Shiraz Cabernet was first released in 2015, the year Max Schubert would have turned 100.

The blend is typically 75% Shiraz and 25% Cabernet Sauvignon from several regions including McLaren Vale, Barossa Valley and Wrattonbully.

A small amount of the wine spends 12 months in new American oak with the balance matured in seasoned American and French oak hogsheads.

Deep crimson red, Penfolds Max's Shiraz Cabernet is medium bodied with soft grainy tannins and a hint of oak. Cellaring potential is 10 years.
